Ampeloeis Gold

Gold is a truly remarkable wine, crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail by our expert winemakers. A blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Syrah, this wine is a testament to the art of blending, as the two varietals seamlessly meld together to create a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in the Kavala nest, where the rocky, clayey soil and Mediterranean climate combine to create the ideal terroir for these grapes to flourish. From the moment this wine is poured, one is struck by its limpid robe with ruby nuances, hinting at the depth and complexity to come. The nose is a symphony of black truffle from Périgord, Cuban cigar, and leather, interwoven with subtle notes of dark fruit, such as blackberry and black cherry. On the palate, Gold is soft and supple, with a velvety texture that coats the mouth, and a long, lingering finish that reveals the wine’s ambitious character.

Classic red vinification lasting 15 days and aging 12 months in French oak barrels and 4 months in bottles has imparted just the right amount of structure and complexity, allowing the wine to showcase its full potential. With each sip, one is transported to the sun-drenched hills of Greece, where the vines that produced this wine basked in the Mediterranean sun, producing grapes of unparalleled quality. Gold is a wine that demands attention and respect, and is best savored in the company of those who appreciate the finer things in life. It is a wine that is worthy of any occasion, from the most intimate of gatherings to the grandest of celebrations, and is sure to impress even the most discerning of palates.
